When I first started out with the Isagenix products, I did not have a lot of funds to spend, so I had to be selective on what I purchased in my very first order. I could choose from chocolate, strawberry or vanilla, and since I love chocolate I decided to start with the Isagenix chocolate shake.
I was so excited to try this product when it first arrived at my home, I ended up making a mid-afternoon shake, because I just didn’t have the patience to wait till the next morning to try this Isagenix Isalean shake for the very first time.
This Isalean shake is very easy to prepare, all you need is 8oz, or 1 cup, of filtered water, and two scoops of the IsaLean Shake powder. The Isagenix IsaLean Shakes come with the scoop in the cannister, but it does take a little bit of digging to get the scoop out, as it gets pretty buried. No matter how hard you try, it is almost next to impossible to get it to the surface without making at least a little bit of a mess. I have started digging for it with a tablespoon, which works well, but I almost always still end up with a little bit of shake powder on the counter.
For some reason, I slipped my mind that I would also need some form of a shaker in order to mix the protein shake. The only shaker we had in the house was a glass mixed drink shaker, which worked great in a pinch. I have since purchased a Stainless Steel Shaker Bottle from Kiss Me Organics on Amazon.
Not knowing what to expect for my very first shake, I mixed it up and took my first sip. I am not going to lie, the first time I drank this shake I was a bit surprised at how bland it tasted. For some reason, I was expecting something really sweet, but that is not how the Isagenix IsaLean shake is formulated.
While there is some sugar in these shakes, the main focus of these shakes is the 24G of protein that you get in every serving. That is more protein in just one serving than is offered by Shakeology or 310 Shakes. Protein is what keeps you feeling full and satisfied, so in my opinion, I would rather have a shake that keeps me satisfied till lunchtime cause that prevents me from searching for a less than healthy snack to tide me over.
When it comes to classifying protein in milk, there are at least 14 different kinds, which are split into two different groups, Caseins, and Wheys. Whey makes up about 20% of the milk protein, and it delivers better lean muscle results than that of eggs, fish, rice, etc.
The Isagenix chocolate shake utilizes Undenatured Whey Protein Concentrate which is a good source of amino acids and is a must for supporting lean body mass. Undenatured whey contains antibodies and enzymes that are beneficial to the human body. So when Whey is denatured, it actually kills off these beneficial bioactive compounds.
What many do not realize is that to legally call a product a Whey Protein Concentrate it can have anywhere between 29 and 89 percent Whey Protein. That is a huge range! The products at the lower end of the range, 29 to 49 percent, actually contain somewhere between 50 and 70 percent fat and lactose, which is why it costs less than the Undenatured Whey in every product that Isagenix offers.
Isagenix utilizes Undenatured Whey, that has been extracted by cold-membrane filtration, and falls at the top end of the Whey scale, 70 to 89 percent, meaning the Isagenix products only contain 10 to 25 percent of fat and lactose. Sure you could save money and buy a cheaper product, but I would much rather utilize a product that contains quality ingredients, as opposed to ones stuffed with fillers. No wonder so many complain about not seeing results with products offered by our competitors.
These shakes are also free of artificial flavors, colors and sweeteners, zero trans fats, have a low-glycemic index and are gluten and soy free. They also contain active enzymes that aid in digestion, is high in fiber, all packed in a nutritious, balanced meal replacement.
Now, you may be wondering how much does Isagenix cost? Every single product we offer can be purchased one of two ways, Retail or Auto-Ship. You can buy Isagenix retail on my Isagenix website, and these orders function pretty much like an order from any retail website. It is a one time purchase of a product, at the full retail price which for the shakes is $53.27 for a canister. Individual packets cost a little more, at $57.27 per box.
The second and more popular option is to sign up for an auto-ship. This method ensures you never run out of your favorite products, and automatically gives you a 25% discount on your very first order, making one cannister of IsaLean Shake $39.95 and packets $42.95. There is a yearly fee of $29 to signup for an auto-ship, but this fee grants you a 25% off discount on all your future auto-ship orders. Default scheduling for auto-ships is once every 30 days, and you can make changes to your order up until the day before your order is scheduled to ship. I prefer the canisters as I drink all my shakes at home, but if you’re always on the go, then the packets may be a better deal for you.
When compared to the cost of Shakeology, the Isagenix Shake works out to about $3.80 (retail), or $2.83 (auto-ship), per serving, as opposed to about $4.33 per serving for Shakeology. The 310 shakes may cost a little less, $2.45 (Retail), or $2.31 (auto-ship), but they don’t use Undenatured Whey Protein Concentrate. I personally would much rather spend a little more for a high quality, scientifically proven product, that I know will deliver results, instead of saving a few bucks and buy a product that may not deliver on its claims.
