Surviving Cancer’s Recipes of the Week – July 2, 2018

I started out by posting my Surviving Cancer’s Recipes of the Week as daily links on my Facebook page, and Instagram profile.  But after much thought, I fear the links may be getting lost, making it hard for you, my loyal fans to find them, should you want to experiment with my chosen recipes for yourself.

So early this morning, I had an idea to create a new post each week with links to all the recipes for that specific week. Then when I post photos of the final product, you can easily find the recipe, instead of waiting on me to post them, because I don’t always have the link handy when dinner is ready. These posts will be done on Mondays, so stay tuned.

Recipes for the Week Of July 2, 2018:

This is an all-in-one recipe. Includes the Chicken Burger, the Chipotle Mayo, and Smashed Avocados. All you need to provide is the buns, and any complimentary side dish you would like. Cheesy Garlic Burgers with Lemon Butter Zucchini Noodles – https://www.pinterest.com/pin/496873771382737686/

We tend to be a bit addicted to pasta in our home, so I try to find recipes that give the feel of eating pasta, but with a healthier option. This recipe has been featured once before on my Instagram feed, with slight modifications. If ground beef isn’t handy, we use ground turkey, a healthier alternative. Crock Pot Pizza Quinoa – https://www.pinterest.com/pin/496873771383591117/

Pizza is an all-time favorite in our home, but it doesn’t always love us back. This recipe is a healthier alternative that can be made in your crockpot. I swap out the green pepper with red, due dietary issues. This is another recipe where we swap the ground beef for the healthier ground turkey, you won’t even notice a taste difference. Since this week is a holiday week, and we’re in the midst of oppressive heat and humidity here in Connecticut, we will most likely be winging it for dinner on a couple of days. I had snagged some Jalapeno and Cheddar Cheese Grass Fed Beef burgers at the grocery store, and we also have chicken dogs or regular hot dogs in the fridge. All depends on what we feel like.
