FabFitFun Fall Box 2018 – A First Look

FabFitFun Fall Box 2018As the saying always goes, time always flies when we’re having fun, and I can’t believe it is already time for my FabFitFun Fall Box 2018. You see, we’re still stuck in the middle of a heat wave up here in Connecticut. The calendar may say August, but dear old mother nature seems to have other ideas.

Temps in the 80s, near 90, combined with high humidity makes it feel like you’re getting hit in the face with a wet towel every time you step outside. Since my Cancer was estrogen positive, I was put into early menopause, and of course, along with that comes hot flashes. My body has a hard time regulating temperature, so when the humidity hits, I tend to stay inside in the cool AC.

But enough about me.

Before I get to the details of what was in my Fall 2018 Fab Fit Fun Box, I probably should discuss what this subscription box is all about.

What is Fab Fit Fun?

Fab Fit Fun is a seasonal subscription service that sends you eight to ten premium full-sized products with a value of over $200. There are no trial sizes, the products you receive are the same size as what you would commonly find at your local beauty store.

But Fab Fit Fun is more than just a seasonal subscription box. You also gain unlimited access to their FABFITFUNTV, which is packed full of workout videos for every skill level and preference.

Want to learn meditation? It’s in there.

Yoga? That’s in there too.

New content is added all the time, allowing you to keep your workouts fresh and exciting, without ever having to set foot inside a gym.

You will also gain access to the FABFITFUN community. This is an online community where you can chat with fellow members about favorite products, tips, and more. You can chat about the current box, your favorite workouts, and anything else that brightens your day. I just saw a post earlier about a fellow member who recently got engaged on the very same day that her subscription box arrived.FabFitFun Fall Box 2018

How does it work?

Like the seasons, each box is unique. When you sign up for a Fab Fit Fun Subscription, you will receive a seasonal shipment with somewhere between 8 and 10 products in each shipment. As stated previously, these products are valued at well over $200.

Prior to your shipment, you will receive an email from Fab Fit Fun. This window gives you the option to customize your box. Certain products are standard in every shipment, while others will give you the choice of one product or another. Sometimes you can get both, by choosing the second product as an add-on, for a nominal fee.

If you like surprises, you can always opt to not customize your box. No matter what option you choose, its unlikely you will not love everything that you get.

How Much Does Fab Fit Fun It Cost?

There are two different membership options when you sign up for the Fab Fit Fun Subscription box.

Seasonal:

The seasonal subscription costs $49.99, for each seasonal box you receive. You will receive an email approximately 1 – 2 weeks prior to your shipment as a reminder of the upcoming charge, as well as additional details about your upcoming shipment. The seasonal subscription gives you the option to customize three items in your box.

Shipping charges will vary based on your location. Sales tax may also apply.

Annual:

The Annual membership cost $179.99 and covers all four seasonal boxes for an entire year. Shipping is also Free! This is the membership option I chose as I like not having to worry about a when I will be billed and whether there are enough funds in my account when the charge comes through.

The Annual membership gives you more customization options. For the Fall of 2018, five of my items were selected based on my preference. Annual membership also grants you early access to your Fab Fit Fun goodies. Your box goes out in the first shipping group, so you get to experience all the goodies, before the seasonal members.

Annual membership also grants you early access to the seasonal add-ons. This is probably one of my most favorite parts of the subscription. As I have been a member since January 2018, there are a few products that I am in love with, and can’t get enough of. Add-ons are the favorites from previous boxes, as well as some new goodies that you can add to your upcoming box. These add-ons are not included in your original membership, and you will be billed for them when the add-on window closes. Taxes may apply. Shipping is also free for all the add-ons you select.

What’s in my FabFitFun Fall Box 2018?

Since I am an Annual Subscription member to Fab Fit Fun, I was given the option to select five of the items I received, and the other five are items that every Fab Fit Fun member receives. I just received this shipment today, so I haven’t had a chance to try any of these products yet, but I wanted to give you all a firsthand look. Reviews on these products will be posted at a later date.

BeautyBlender – Retail Price $20

Don’t let its small size fool you. This little teardrop-shaped sponge is edge free and is designed to seamlessly blend your favorite cream, powder or liquid formula. It delivers a streak-free application, with minimal product waste. The pointed end works perfectly in delicate areas, like under your eyes, or the sides of your nose. The rounded end works great for blending product on the rest of your face.

This sponge is activated by water, and it will expand to about twice its size when wet. The brand uses non-toxic, water-soluble dyes, so some may shed after the first few uses, but it will not transfer to the skin.

I wear very little to no makeup nowadays, so this specific product may not do me much good.

GlamGlow BubbleSheet Oxygenating Deep Cleanse Mask (2-pack) – Retail Price $18

These little masks are designed to work on all skin types. They are an oxygenating deep cleansing mask with Green Tea Teaoxi that uses microbubbles to invigorate and detoxify the skin. It delivers a carbonated fizzy foam that works to remove dirt, oil and any makeup buildup.

I have been struggling with my skin post Cancer, so I am actually quite excited to try this product from my FabFitFun Fall Box 2018. My current go-to cleanser is my Clarisonic, with one of the many bottles of cleanser sitting in my bathroom drawer. Depending on how this works, I may have just found a new favorite to add to my beauty collection.

Simply Whimsical Tea Towels – Retail Price $14.99

Now, this is something that I think no-one can ever have enough of, and that is some cute and fun hand/dish towels for the kitchen. There is always a towel hanging on the handle of our oven, and they are in constant rotation, with at least one in the laundry at any given time.

I have to admit I was pleasantly surprised to find these towels in my FabFitFun Fall Box 2018, and this is most definitely something I will use on an almost daily basis. It should be interesting to see how they stand up to constant use and washing. The tag does state to line dry, which is something I rarely do, and find a bit strange when it comes to a towel.

Skin&Co Roma Blue in Capri – Retail Price $22

I’ll admit it, I am just a little addicted to body washes. I love variety, and usually have at least three, maybe four bottles open in the shower at any given time. This addiction resulted in the need for two shower racks, to accommodate all my body wash, as well as my shampoos.

This specific shower gel was inspired by the lemon farmers in Capri, Italy. It features a tantalizing blend of alpine rose, sage, wild basil, and autumn blossom. It’s a cruelty-free product. I can’t wait to try this one.

Sponsored Product – LUNA Rica Bar

After my Cancer diagnosis, I take extreme care when it comes to trying new foods. I specifically avoid products that contain mostly soy, as it is an ingredient that can mimic estrogen in the body. The last thing I want to do is inadvertently feed my Cancer.

I have heard of the Luna brand in the past, but this is the first time I am seeing a bar that is Gluten Free, Non-GMO and certified organic. It appears to be a limited ingredient product, and while I do not see Soy listed, there is an allergen warning regarding soy, which means trace amounts could potentially be in the product via cross-contamination in the manufacturing process.

They were nice enough to also include a coupon code for $3 off the purchase of a 12-15 count box of bars on Amazon. If you’re already a Luna Bar Fan, use code 3LUNAFFF on this Salted Carmel Nut Luna Rica Bar.

Vince Camuto Luck Tote – Retail Price $128

This was one of the choice items. I could either choose from this Tote or a makeup brush set. Since I hardly ever use makeup, I opted for the tote. It is large enough to carry everyday essentials, and its made from Vegan Leather. There is a handy side pocket on the inside, for the little things that can easily get lost, and the interior is nice and soft.

I will note, that this bag does have a bit of a chemical odor to it, which I am a bit surprised about given its price. I am hoping that airing it out will get rid of the odor. On further research, Vegan leather is actually a synthetic leather. It doesn’t state specifically what the material is that the bag is made of, but at least it’s not made from cows.

Whether the odor fades over time will determine whether I keep this bag, or pass it on. It’s too early to tell, as I just received it today.

Alfred Teapot – Retail Price $26

This was one of those items in my fabfitfun subscription box fall 2018 where I really wasn’t a fan of either of the choices but I had to choose one. It was either a teapot or a French Press. My coffee routine commonly consists of nothing more than the use of my Keurig machine, so the French Press was out.

We currently have a Pfaltzgraff teapot on our stove, more as a decoration than for use, so I may just swap it out with this one every once in a while for a bit of a change. This teapot was designed by the Alfred Tea Room based in LA. Maybe when the weather gets a little cooler I may just have to try to brew tea, instead of always turning to the box tea bags found at the grocery store.

Cylo Cobra Bluetooth Wireless Earbuds – Retail Price $40

Even though we’ve upgraded to an iPhone 8 Plus, we’re still a bit old school when it comes to our headphones. Yep, ours are still corded and use the headphone adapter. We know that at some point we should upgrade to a Bluetooth version, so these couldn’t have come at a better time, as my husband just lost his existing pair.

On first look, the specs don’t seem too bad. They have a battery life of about 4 hours for music, 4.5 hours for talking, and over 90 hours of standby time. Supposedly it takes about 2 hours to charge the 65 mAh battery, so it should be interesting to see if they live up to the specs.

This was another of the choice options. It was either the headphones or an umbrella. Since I spend most of the time at home, and we already have more umbrellas than we can count, the headphones ended up being the better option.

Grown Alchemist Hydra-Repair Day Cream – Retail Price $49

Being an annual FabFitFun Subscription Box member, I had the choice of either the day cream, a Polishing Facial Exfoliant, or a Cream Cleanser. I have been struggling quite a lot with my skin post-cancer treatment, so I am always trying to find a natural lotion that will help restore my skin naturally.

This product states its non-greasy and is designed specifically to protect the skin from free radicals. The box states its free from skin aging toxins, and carcinogens. There is no Lauryl Sulfate. Petrochemicals, artificial fragrance, nitrosamine releasers, D.E.A, T.E.A, Parabens, Paraffins, synthetic colors or glycols. Wow! That’s a mouthful.

It does contain rosehip, camellia, and jojoba oil, designed to balance sebum levels, soothe the skin, and repair UV damage. I can’t wait to try this product. It sounds like it may be the solution to all my problems, and it is something I would have never even known existed had I not been a Fab Fit Fun member. Hopefully, it lives up to the hype, as it may just become a permanent member of my beauty routine.

Cuccio Somatology Yogahhh! Detox Bath – Retail Price $39.95

If you have been following me on Instagram, you probably know that soaking in the tub is one of my “me time” musts. So it really should come as no surprise that I chose the Detox Bath instead of the Lipstick, or Eye Cream that was provided as the other two options.

My cancer treatments flooded my body with toxic chemicals designed specifically to kill cancer. Combine that with the toxins that we are subjected to on a daily basis, and we all need to find a way to rid our bodies of these toxins in the most natural way possible.

This Detox salt bath contains a blend of Greek Mastiha, Mediterranean Sea Salts, and Goji Berry Extract. The product is not tested on animals and features calming scents of eucalyptus. It’s currently a bit too warm in our neck of the woods, but I can’t wait to try this product when it gets a little cooler out. It may just be another winner.

How do I sign up?

Signing up is very simple and easy. Just visit Fab Fit Fun, click the Get The Box button, and follow the prompts. When you use my Fab Fit Fun Referral link, you will receive $10 off your first box, normally only a $5 savings if not referred by a member, and I receive $15 Credit to use towards my Add-ons, for referring you to the service.

You can choose either the Seasonal membership at $49.99 each season, or go for the gusto and select the Annual Subscription. The discount only applies to the seasonal membership, but you can upgrade at any time. I recommend doing what I did, sign up as a Seasonal member, to test the waters, so you can get your first box for only $39.99, and then upgrade.

Don’t forget, there is no obligation, and if for any reason you are not happy with your Fab Fit Fun Box, you can cancel your membership at any time.

Conclusion

Just in my Fab Fit Fun Fall 2018 box, there was $357.94 worth of products! Since I am an Annual member, the seasonal cost works out to about $45 for each shipment. Well worth the money in my opinion.

My Annual renewal will be coming up in January, and I will most definitely be sticking with this service moving forward. I cannot believe the quality of the products that I get each quarter for such a low price. The cost of the Vince Camuto bag in this box more than makes up for the cost of the subscription.

Even if you end up with a few products you don’t like, you can always give them to friends or family. These are full-size products, not trial sizes, so you really don’t have anything to lose by trying. Winter is just around the corner, so don’t delay and sign up today before the Fab Fit Fun Winter 2018 goodies pass you by.

      Hi Beth!
Sorry to hear you’re having issues with your Fall Box. I’m a Fab Fit Fun subscriber just like yourself, so I don’t know when your box will arrive.

If you log into your account on fabfitfun.com, go under Subscription & Orders, it should provide you with a tracking # for your box, under status, if it has already shipped. There is also a link on that page for “When will my order ship” which will provide you with more information regarding the time windows for shipment of each seasons box.
If you still have questions, I recommend reaching out directly to their customer support: https://support.fabfitfun.com/hc/en-us.
They should be able to help you with any further questions you might have beyond the information that can be found in your account. Hope that helps!
